Installed Programs inventory utility

Hello all,

I am looking for a utility which can be used to collect information on each 2000 & XP desktop & laptop I have at my firm. The CEO is a stickler with the pocket book and I don’t want to present a huge data collection server option to him this year. However, I want to start on getting inforamtion on my systems regarding programs loaded on these systems. I plan on going through and doing a physical inventory of the systems here (something the previous IT manager worked on) and I thought “Why not kill 2 birds with one stone and do an inventory of the programs loaded as well?” I just want something that would scan the system and export a text file I could collect with each machine and track it through my own internal database.

Any suggestions?
