I attempted to upgrade my server the cheap way and add a PCI ATA/SATA card to it. It is recognised both at start up and in Windows 2000. The problem is, the drives do not power up for them to be detected by the card’s bios.
SO the question is, does this particular server, configured with the stock SCSI and mobo IDE (controlling the cdrom) preventing the power on, thus, detection of a hard drive on both the parallel and serial ata channels?
Thank you for your input!
