Installing CD RW Drivers from MS DOS

by user9261 . Updated 25 years, 1 month ago

This question is related to an earlier one (Drivers for Freecom 8x4x32)
How can I get my CD RW (Freecom 8x4x2 IDE Internal) drive working from MS DOS. I want to install win95, which is on CD. My CDRW didn’t come with any drivers as they are installed when you boot up your computer when running windows. However, i need to get my CD drive working to install windows. I have a win95 boot up disk which i have to use to access dos. I have tried telling my bios to boot from CD but it is not a bootable CD. Also, if i type D: or E: then it says Invalid Drive Specification because i haven’t installed any drivers or updated the config.sys, or autoexec.bat.

PLEASE HELP!
