Installing DHCP

By joseph.tedesco ·
I have installed Windows NT 4 Enterprise Edition with a Service Pack 6. I want to install the Microsoft DHCP Server service. When propmted to insert cd with source file d:\sp3\i386, I insert Ent. Edition Disc 1. Installation fails to find 4 files i.e dhcpmib.dll dhcpssvc.dll ipadrdll.dll and jetpack.exe. I reboot pc and reinstall my Service Pack 6. After clicking DHCP Manager, I get an error stating that the dynamic link library could not be found in the specified path c:\winnt\system32; c:\winnt\system32; c:\winnt\system; c:\winnt; c:\winnt\system32; c:winnt; c:\mtx. Is there any remedy for this?

Check your cd itself as it sounds like the disk may be damaged

Check the integrity and the system environment before doing anything else.
Using the current path setting will make your pc
behave in an unpredictable way.

I'd remove DHCP and readd the service from another CD. Even if you copied the files off into the right location and registered the dll's with regsrv32 you would still not know how reliable the DHCP service was.
