I have a user who has an external HP 8200 series CD-writer connected to the PC through a USB cable. The OS on the PC is Windows 2000 professional. Now, when the CD-writer was initially installed, it was done so with only the option to disk copy CD’s. Now we want to be able to add data to CD’s or create data CD’s.The CD that came with the writer gives us the option to do this by installing additional software for this to be possible. Now, after we have completed the installation and we restart our pc and we log on to our network, as our log script runs and the adaptec logo starts to come up, the pc immediately automatically re-boots itself. This will continue to occur unless we boot in safe-mode and delete the adaptec CD software from the pc and then we can then log on without any problems. What could be the problem?
