I am having problem in installation of JDK1.4 on Solaris ix86 plateform, when I run the .sh instaltion file its either prompt the file is corrupted or sometime it is installed successfully without any error but when I run java it gives following error, Error occurred during initialization of VM java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object Any help and suggestion will be highly appriciated, Regards

Thanks jdelgado but I could not find any tar file for installation on ix86, I ll be gratefull if you could porvide some download link for j2sdk-1.4.1-solaris.tar [ix86]
Are you downloading this on a different machine and then transferring it (maybe via ftp) to this machine?
If so, you may have some file format issues. This could explain your problems. I would say to remove the file you have and download it again. Or maybe, if possible, download the next version and suns site. There may be a problem with that version's install file. In which case it would probably not be fixed as Sun does not support versions before 1.4.2, at least not without a special case.
