Installing MS Exchange 2000

When designating the top level domain name space; can you use any.com where any.com is my companies' existing web site hosted by an outside vendor(for various reasons)?

Installing MS Exchange 2000

by NMead In reply to Installing MS Exchange 20 ...

Yes. Some say NOT to use it and to use something like any.local for the AD name, others say it is fine. If you are hosting your own DNS (and have DNS servers facing the internet) you should be very careful about zone transers, but if someone is hosting your www.any.com site, I will assume that they are doing your DNS(external) DNS as well.
Also, I find it is more confusing to users to have something different than their email address, esp. if you will be using UPN logins, i.e. john@any.com.
