I have Deskpro 5233 (MMX) with a 3.2Gb drive. I have been attempting to install a 8.4 Gb drive as the master. I pulled the new drive from my old Compaq Deskpro 575. The 5233 BIOS initially did not recognise the new drive (configuration) until I installed a later Rompaq, however once recognised, it then didn’t recognise the diagniostics partition. I am now trying a complete rebuild of the new HDD but need a bootable floppy that can read the CD. Have tried Compaqs own Sony CD drivers to build thefloppy, no success. The new drive was partitioned as C & D and I would really like to retain the D partition if at all possible without a total rebuild.
