Installing Oracle 11g on Ubuntu

By duncanlarry ·
Can someone point me in the right direction, I am trying to install Oracle 11g on Ubuntu linux and I am having a couple of problems.

1. I get to a certain point and I su - oracle, and the system tells me the user does not exist.

2. I enter dba:oracle and it also tells me this does not exist.

I am following a script from a Ubuntu forum but these errors are popping up.

Help please

I thought I created this directory, can you tell me how to create it correctly.
