Installing Programs in Windows 2000 Pro

By tdigirolamo ·
I have configured users on Windows 2000 Pro Workstations as Power Users on our Domain with Admin Rights to their Local Machine. There are certain programs that user cannot install without having administrive rights to the domain. Is there a security setting that would allow the user to install programs without having administrative rights to our domain?

Thanks!

if you make the users local administrators on the local machine, you shouldn't need to worry about their access to the domain.

the other thing is that you can run an install as another user temporarily. if you right click on the setup executableyou should get an item called Run As. then you can supply administrator credentials for the duration of the setup (without allowing the user inappropriate domain access)
