Installing Win Xp on a Raid 0 array

By as_pompei ·
I am trying to install Win Xp on Raid 0. The problem is that setup does not see this array when it list available hdds. I 3 hdd 2 are striped on Raid 0 and one is on the Primarty IDE channel(for Storage). Setup only recognizes the hdd on the PrimaryIDe channel. Maybe I need to set that drive to slave? I'm not sure. Anyone with suggestions as to why setup won't recognize the Raid array, please post.

Additinal info: I am sure that I setup the array correctly. Although I tried to install additional drives but I don't have a disc to do so. I am stuck...

xp on raid

I have just set up a raid 0 array with win xp pro. I have a pci raid card and i set both drives to master and placed one on each channel. When you boot up using a floppy boot disk you need to fdisk and partition the array. When you have done that ,start to load win xp. It will ask you if you are installing any drivers (press f6 when asked) This is when you load your raid drivers. Continue to load xp and when you have completed this. You will need to go into your bios and set the first boot to your raid drives. Remove your xp cd and reboot and all should be well
