It depends on which version of windows you have... like Win98 install is on the cd-rom in a folder called Win98. WinNT is in a folder called i386. Win2000 is in a folder called WinNT. Find the folder on your cd and copy it to c:\windowsCD.

then cd\windowsCD
and run the setup program (which also varies depending on which version you are installing).

You don't want to copy windows to c (there's too many files and your computer will not function).

After fdisk, you should format /s (to place the system boot files on c:\)

And also the bootup process will show up on the screen before Windows loads.... there's no problem with that.

In addition, make sure you are selecting 'typical' or 'custom' rather than 'run from cd' when you are selecting the installation type.

After running Fdisk now you have to format your c: drive
format c: /s
Once this is done then boot with your boot disk, let it detect the CDrom but not install Windows 98 from CD.
make a folder on your c: drive called it win98 then copy the folderwin98 from your cd to your new folder on your hard disk.
After your files are copied then you can install Windows 98 from your folder on your hard disk.
IE:

c:
md \win98
d:
cd \win98
copy *.* c:\win98
c:
cd \win98
setup
(if you are trying to install windows 98 or 95 or Windows ME) if you want to install something else like Windows 2000 or Windows NT the procedure is a little different.
Please e-mail me back if you get any problem.

Good luck,
@lberto

After partitioning and formating your drive with the /s and /u commands. Reboot to a win98 boot disk and accept the boot with cdrom support. After it finds your cdrom go to the drive letter for the cd and type cd win95 or what ever you have like 98 or me and type copy *.* to what ever drive you want the files to be on.
