Installing Windows XP Pro SP3 has caused issues with Group Policy
I have rebuilt a few ICT suites with Windows XP Pro Service pack 3. Now when students log on when they access the MY Documents folder (Which In group Policy is redirected to their Home Share) they get a message advising them that they cannot access due to restrictions, please see the administrator.
They can then go to the My Computer Icon, and access their home drive there, so there is a work around.
However, If I go to another machine, which still has windows Xp service pack 2 installed and log on as a student, they can access their Home folder via the My Documents folder with no errors. So I know my GPO is ok, as it is fine with SP2. I have also found that on odd occasions, a student will log on and the GPO hasn't applied, if they log off and log back on, the GPO then applies ok...but this has only been happening since we have had gigabyte switches installed throughout.
Students have a mandatory profile....no roaming profiles.
thank you for your help in advance
