WHy can't you install Windows XP from DOS? If you computer supports CD-boot you can install from the CD by booting off the CD... You have to make sure that the boot order is set to bott your CD before your HD in the BIOS.

If you wish to set this up as a dual boot system, here is what to do:

Boot into Windows Me.

Insert the XP CD.

Follow the prompts for a custom install, and direct Windows to install on the drive.

It will automatically set up your system to dual boot into Me or XP. (XP will be the default)

Otherwise, boot up using your Me startup disk, or set up your PC to boot from CD.
At the DOS prompt, browse to your CD drive, and run setup.

If all else fails, download the file from Microsoft to create the XP startup floppy set.
Make sure that you get the correct file for your version of XP.
