INSTALLING XP

by wayneinreno . Updated 24 years, 8 months ago

I recently tried to install XP.As the install was running, a screen asked about default “username” . I clicked to go ahead with the username assigned. It was
“HP authorizedcustomer”. Now when I try to connect to the internet, that username is finding it’s way into the password area of my internet providing connection, and I am not able to connect to the internet using my normal dial up connection.I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of. Is there a way to go into the system register, and changethat?(the username assignment)
HP sent me an email trying to explain the troubleshooting proceedure, but it does not work. HELP ANYBODY PLEASE.I have an Hewlett Packard XL916, and I am upgrading from ME to XP. SUGGESTIONS PLEASE! Is it possible themodem speed has something to do wth it? Very Frustrating to say the least.
I WANT MY “XP”!!!
Thanks, and have a nice holiday season.Wayne.
