Installling Multiple DVD roms

By total geek ·
I am trying to install multiple DVDROMs using PCI Ide controller cards. It eas working but since one of the dvdr's has gone, and I treid to replace it with another one, I have not been able to get the computer to start up again. If I disconnect all dvd(4) drives from the controller card, the computer works fine.
Can anyone please help me with this?

replacement DVD.

Try pulling the controller card and rebooting twice. This will allow the BIOS to start from scratch. If the card came with management software > add remove programs & remove. Then reinstall the PCI controller card. Q What make & model is the controller card? Q Is the controller card configuable? Q jumpers or software? Reinstall the dvds one at a time.

Boot with no DVD's connected, go into control panel -> system -> device manager -> CDrom and delete all DVD drives. Add one at a time with the correct OEM CD drivers. Should correct your problem.
