Insufficient Memory message In NT4

By Shanghai Sam ·
I am running an NT 4 Server with Citrix Metaframe on it and have only 4 clients connecting to it. Up until recently and there have been no changes, all has been well, but now none of my users can open MS Word97 as it displays that there is insufficient memory when there can be no other applications running. The machine has 128mb RAM and the paging file size is at the maximum.
thanks in advance

Insufficient Memory message In NT4

I doubt that it's your network. It's most probably a Word problem. Find and delete/rename Norma.dot. Delete any tmp files that word leaves behind. They start with a tilde "~".

I am not sure what you mean by maximum, but reduce the page file size some. A page file that is too big will actually slow the machine down and cause problems. I agree with the previous answer of deleting temp files, make sure you delete all, not just word temp files. Good Luck!

i agreed with both answer 1 & 2.

if you still can't open word 97 after atempting both suggested solution, and if word97 is the only app. that your user can't open, i suggest you remove word97 and have re-install it.

regards
