INSUFFICIENT SECURITY PRIVELEGES

I am running windows 2000 Pro, and always log on under Administrator, I now keep getting a warning that ” you dont have sufficient security priveleges to add new hardwear, log off and back on as an administrator”, the only thing that i did was to re-name the administrator account, but i dont know if that has anything to do with it. Can anyone help please.
