Int. Deployment of Security Tokens

By snah ·
In our company we are about to deploy 4000 Security Tokens (2-factor Authentication) to our staff worldwide (Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe, N-S America). This of course to bring our VPN into operation.
Any valuable feedback from whoever has had experience with such a task and who can provide information (Tip,Tricks and Traps) shall please provide their input here. We know to appreciate it.

Int. Deployment of Security Tokens

by vbarnard In reply to Int. Deployment of Securi ...

The trick to this is to issue the tokens in a timely fashion and only one to a user. We put site security in charge of issuing the tokens. They do all the ID photos anyway, so it was just 1 more item for them to implement. The second thing we didwas to tie the tokens to the payroll database. If the user is not getting paid, (s)he is probably not working there. During evaluation, we looked for centralized management. You appear to be past this stage, but this feature can save time (mucho manhours) and money. It can pay for itself in dealing with different time zones if you're using something that is time-based (e.g. SecurID)

It's not easy, but it is doable. Good luck
