Integral USB 2.0 flash drive 256MB

By john 365 ·
I have one of the above but have not been able to
get it to work with Windows 98. It states in the literature that it will work with W98 and USB 1.1 which mine is. I have installed the diver from the supplied CD and looked for updates on the manufacturers site and Microsoft but this did not help.
The device works with XP so it is not faulty.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Some of the newer USB thumb / flash drives do not work with the older chip-sets and USB drivers found on systems running W98.

My best recommendation would be to install a USB 2.0 plug-in card.

Depending on the chip-set on your motherboard, you might be able to get the flash drive to work with the latest chip-set drivers.
The problem is that the newer drivers that support new flash drives can be unstable on older hardware, or with W98.
