When I start my NT4 server I receive the following error message :"The Intel File Transfer service terminated with the following error: The handle is invalid.". What is the cause and how can I correct it.

Are you using Landesk? Here are a couple links to look through:

Reinstall Service Pack:

It looks like IFT is part of the LanDesk suite. If you don't use it, you could probably just set the service to the manual or disabled startup type. Use the services console (services.msc) or the computer management (compmgmt.msc).

I am not using Landesk so this solution doesn't apply.

I've determined that the "Intel File Transfer service" is a component of Symantec Corporate Edition Antivirus Program. This component was not properly handled during a recent product upgrade.

Reinstalling the upgrade corrected the problem and I no longer receive the error message.

Thanks for your help.
