Intel Netport Express 10 Print Server

By bfeltus ·
I have an intel netportexpress 10 printserver in a windows 2000 network. The printserver is connected to a linksys etherfast 10/100 5-port workgroup hub. A windows 2000 pro workstation is also connected to this hub. The printserver has to be reset or powered on and off everyday because it seems to be dropping the connection. How do I solve this?

I never encounter such problem. But, print server depend heavily on protocol installed in LAN. Which protocol you use in this LAN ? Intel Netport could be best use with TCP/IP.

Okay then if you use TCP/IP.

Second thing to check whether the adapter plug is secure plugged into the Netport. Seems that, near a dot matrix printer with heavy left-right movement during printing, it does affect the power supply to the Netport. In my case, the light turn red, although it would then turn green again. But, at least, try to put it on different table than the printer.

If the problem persist, I would think that the Netport somehow has error.
