Picture in your mind a PDC replaced by a new PDC and the new BDC controlling the printers. The software is Netport Express Manager 4.42 and the ports are set up through the LPR as 192.168.100.x and the printer port name(s) are LPTx_PASSTHRU and then shared as something else. OK. The Intel Express Pro print servers have been ARPed back in 1996. I downloaded the newest version of the Netport app to the PDC from Intel, and I cannot add the ports as the above described until I a) take the BDC completely off-line, or b) delete all the ports and rebuild the lpr ports. The BDC is a Compaq 200 MHz which broke down twice over the years. The PDC was purchased last year (a custom build). I am debating on what to do with the BDC after I make the changeover. BTW, the client uses Navision as their database and I have never done this operation before. Pray for me or you can reply and ask me why did I write this. Amen.
