I’m a new network admin with a small network infrastructure but little knowledge of why things were done the way they were. I have three 3560G switches that are connected from their SFP ports via 8 port 3500XL switch.
Port gi0/49 on each 3560G is configured as follows:
interface GigabitEthernet0/49
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport mode trunk
macro description cisco-switch
no cdp enable
spanning-tree link-type point-to-point
!
Can I remove the 3500XL and connect the 3560Gs to each other via some sort of daisy chain cabling with the SFP ports?
Internet access is available through an appliance firewall that has a straight through cable connected to just one switch’s port. What should be the best configuration for optimal performance?
Thanks,
-Chad
