intermitent/limited wireless router connectivity

By mimi4dd ·
I have 3 laptops at home, HP Pavilion with Windows XP, Fujitsu Lifebook with XP, and Toshiba Satellite with Windows Vista. I also have a 2WIRE DSL modem wireless homeportal. Each notebook directly connects to the internet via the homeportal. The notebooks are also connected to each other in a homenetwork. Wireless connectivity to the homeportal with the HP and Fujitsu is excellent and stable. However, the Toshiba with the Vista occasionally indicates limited connectivity and may also drop out altogether.

Is there a fix to this? Is it the Toshiba or the Vista which causes the instability?

I would tend to think that you have Vista Problem. The OS is currently way too new with lots of bugs that as yet haven't been worked out.

M$ was pushing out fixes for XP when it was first released much faster then they currently are for Vista but that could be because they are currently working on a Service Pack for Vista.

Ring Toshiba's Technical Support and see what they have to say as they are the OEM Suppliers of your copy of Vista they are the ones who need to advise you on a possible solution or workaround.
