Intermittent Freeze

By kcav ·
I wonder why my server freezes every couple minutes. If you wait it will resume performing. How can I track the cause of the problem?

This is a new installation. The operating system is Windows 2003 Small Business Server.

I shutdown and rebooted. The IDE drives were not seen, and the SATA drive was not seen, only the controller was. The SCSSI drives were recognized, and the Windows screen appeared. The operating system started to load and then stalled. I shut the machine off.

Error svchost 952 is Nachia/Welchia Worm.
Go to www.mynetwatchman.com/tools/sc/nachiwelchia.htm
They will have the fix.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. I am using the information to remove the Welchia worm. Where do think they got the name from?

The 952 error message reporting Welchia virus was wrong. The problem with the cursor freezing vanished when I removed a SATA controller and hard drive.
