Internet access

By computab ·
There are 2 PCs, Windows 98 and Windows XP. They have internet access through a hub, but the Windows 98 machine cannot access internet now since a virus, which has been removed. Do I need to run the network connection program (WInXP disk) on the Windows 98 machine to reconnect to the internet?

Try going in and reestablishing the interent connection on the WIN98 Machine.
Meaning right click on Internet explorer, click on connections and then the set-up button near the top. If you're using a LAN connection for internet use the button labled LAN Settings. If those don't work it might be a good idea to use the XP disk and reinstall the program once again.

Hope that helps

I would go in and delete all of the network connections from the pc and then reinstall them. That way windows will reinstall all of the appropriate drivers. The winxp disk will not do that, it will just reset the registry settings.

Cheers.
