Internet Access Control

By cviescas ·
I have multiple companies all suffering from the need to have Internet surfing restricted to 'approved business sites', and nothing else.

Unfortunately, alot of the users use both dialup *AND* proxy servers, with several using direct DLS connections.

Has anyone seen or found some access control plug-in or ??? for IE5 that will handle all of these with one access list?

Thanks.

The simple answer, NO. As long as users have their own modem connection there is nothing you can do short of installing a filter on the machines and password protecting it. I'm assuming you meant DSL (DLS?), if so you have the same problem. Good Luck

Thanks, but I need a solution.

I have come up with an IE plugin which is under testing now and fixes tis problem for 'all' types of connections.

you might be able to set your proxey server to only give certain site access, if you can't, then you have to have a fire wall program of some sort.

Thanks, but as soon as a dialup becomes active both the firewall and the proxy server get bypassed.
