Internet Access using a Router

by cconti . Updated 24 years, 3 months ago

I am trying to configure my home domain to access the Internet using a Cable modem to Road Runner through a NetGear RP114 router. All the computers are able to access the internet for extended periods of time. However, randomly internet connectivityis lost. Disabling and renabling the NIC resolves the issue. I was using DHCP from a Windows 2000 Server to Windows 2000 Pro clients but fixed the IPs in an attempt to resolve the issue. I also manually entered the DNS server IPs that are configuredwhen I connect a PC directly to the Cable Modem into the local settings for each PC. Road Runner will not support any PC that is behind a router. HELP
