internet connection

By Daz'n'Ash ·
I am trying to connect to my ISP using Linux, but I can't seem to get a connection. The modem is correctly setup and works fine. I click to connect to the ISP, the modem initialises, then dials in, handshakes, then pauses for about 30 seconds thendisconnects. The following text is a log file of the connection....

Check with your ISP, it looks like it is terminating on a Signal 15 by a user. Sounds as though you are getting out to the ISP, but the ISP is cooperating.

I figured it out, I was using the wrong authentication method. I had to use either PAP or CHAP, once I selected PAP and dialed, it logged on without a problem.
