I have a computer that had a BSOD and internet connection problem.
I traced the BSOD to a third party firewall. I removed the firewall and other components (antivirus, antispyware, and antispam).
I no longer have the BSOD but still Internet problem. I can connect to Internet without any problem for first four or five minutes and then it just stops. I have to reboot to connect to Internet just for another four or five minute. The followings are what I have done.
1. Enabled/disabled Windows Firewall.
2. Scanned for virus and Spyware. No virus was found, A few Spyware were found and removed. I used seven well known antispyware.
3. Uninstalled/reinstalled network components.
4. Ran WinsockFix and LSPFix.
5. Installed two different NICs.
6. Did BIOS flash.
7. Changed IE settings to default.
8. Tried Firefox.
9. Reinstalled (in-place upgrade) Windows.
Tried a cleaninstalling Windows in a different HD and there was no problem. This told me that there is a setting(s) in Windows that is causing the connection problem and I have not figured out yet. I hope some of you have any ideas?

Since the reinstallation of Windows, I have not been able to download let alone install MS critical updates because of Internet problem.
