Internet Connection lost through virus?

by jeremy . Updated 23 years, 5 months ago

I downloaded a net detective program off of Kazaa, and I installed it and rebooted. After that my internet connection was gone, and with winipcfg.exe it was listing some wierd ip other than my normal. I am on a lan connection with cable modem. The network is working fine as i can transfer files between both computers, but the internet connection is dead on the computer I installed the program on(I have uninstalled it). I was wondering if somehow the program could have altered something to destroy my connection, or if I could have recieved a virus that is doing it, although I scanned the system with Norton Antivirus 2003 Pro with updated virus definitions and it found nothing. I would really appreciate help with this on what I should do.
