Internet connection on Windows 2000

By cee-doc ·
I am currently trying to install a 56k modem on Windows 2000 which all goes fine. However, whenever I restart the machine and run the Internet Connection Wizard I cannot complete the wizard to set my dial up to the chosen ISP.
If I don't restart and dial straight in I'm fine.

One question... Is the modem not being found or is it missing when you reboot the computer?

Once 2K finds and installs it, you shouldn't need to use the wizard after you have setup your conection.

Or maybe you just need help creating a permenent icon for your Internet connection to your ISP.

Let me know

Hi Ben,

2k finds the hardware, it's the internet connection that won't accept the setup and cannot use the modem to dial out with.

Maybe I should have asked first what type of ISP is it and then determine what type of protocol you need. Like PPP and such.
