Situation:
1. Have three Win ?98 PCs on a 10 base T ethernet Lan with a single host machine connected directly to an Internet cable modem (IE have two (PCI) nics installed on the host).
2. Have specified local IP addresses on the LAN and use TCP/IP as the LAN protocol.
3. Have had ICS running successfully until recently when I moved the host function to a different machine.
4. Presently have a working LAN and host connection to the Internet but am having difficulties successfully installing ICS on the host after repeated attempts.
ICS completes its installation, and shows up as binding to TCP/IP etc. in Control Panel ? Network, however it does not function and I notice that I am not getting (shared) and (home) designations in my network properties. I have tried re-installing from scratch and partial reinstallations of network components several times but cannot get the proper binding any more that will allow ICS to work. I suspect that I need to ?flush out? my drivers in the Windows or edit the registry, or some combination of the two, but am at a loss as to how best to proceed. Any pointers would be MUCH appreciated!
Thanks,
Peter
