Internet explorer browsing problem

I am using MS internet explorer version 5.0. My OS is Windows 98se. When I try to access one simplified chinese version web page, it display some unknown text. Actually, the web page should have background picture and simplified chinese character. But I try to access another simplified chinese web page, it is normal. I try to download the simplified font for encoding purpose but it sympton still appear. Is it any wrong setting in the internet explorer?
