Internet Explorer Homepage Hijacking

By ddvorpahl ·
How do I stop my IE6 Homepage from being hijacked by

I get multiple warnings from various anti-virus software that my home page has changed to above:blank, do I want to keep it? I always say no, however, when I open IE I get the address above:blank and it switches to the above url or when I put my desired homepage in I shift to the above url. I checked my settings for homepage on the tab tools, internet, but it still reflects the desired homepage, but I can't get there unless I go manually. I am not sure but there may more hijacking on my pc. Can someone help?

You have a spyware problem. Download install and update Ad-Aware, and SpyBot S&amp. make sure that the anti virus software is up to date also. Now boot into safemode and run all scans, virus, and spyware. Make sure that you turn off System Restore before you do the scans or the machine could reinfect itself. Scan with each program several times until it comes back clean 2 times. This may require several reboots.

And a great free for home use anti-virus (I own the professional version and have not been infected by any viruses!)

above:blank, or about:blank?
First, install antispyware. Also, with Windows Defender you can set the homepage, and if it tries changing, you will be notified.
