Hi,

How do I create a policy in Poledit.exe to delete users' internet history files and cookies from their profile after they have logged of from the workstation. We are running NT4.0 as PDC and windows2000 prof client.

Please help

Don't need to do it through policy editor. Simply add the following 3 lines to autoexec.bat file which will run at login and make sure the home directory of each user points to this file in the path.
deltree /Y c:\windows\history\
deltree /Y c:\windows\cookies\
deltree /Y c:\windows\tempor~1\
Add them before the last line in the file. This effectively deletes these files each time the user logs on.

Can't take credit for this but long forgot where I got it.

If you use roaming profiles set in <Default Computer> - delete chached copy of roaming profiles and in <Default User> - exclude directories in roaming profile where you must add Temporary Internet Files;Temp;Cookies.

First, you can do half of what you are wanting to do in the Advanced tab of Internet Explore 5.5 and above.

Secondly, if you want to do this you should download the IEAK (Internet Explorer Adminsitration Kit) which allows you to either use their .ADM files for the policy editor or customize your own version of Internet Explorer.
