Internet home page

On my Internet explorer version 5, under tools, internet options, homepage all my buttons and the address is greyed out. I am stuck with an Acer home page and cant change it.
Any Ideas

Go through the Registry. You will need to look at 2 areas:
HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main and
HKEY_Users\Default\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
At each of these areas there should be and entry called Main and next to that you'll see the homepage URL. Double click on it to edit and type in the homepage you want.
You may need to reboot.

You could possibly have a virus. Are you running anti-virus software? Here is something else you can try: Open internet explorer, type in the address of the page that you want your homepage to be, after the page loads, drag the little E symbol (thats right in front of the web address) to the HOME button on the toolbar.
