Internet/LAN Access

by dgarci . Updated 23 years, 5 months ago

I have a home network (LAN) with the following configuration:

2 w/stations (1 XP the other ME)
1 10/100 switch
1 DSL modem

The modem is connected to my ISP who provides dynamic IPs. The modem is connected to my switch which in turn is connected to the w/stations. Both w/stations are configured for DHCP which then allows them to independently connect to the internet.

My problem:

In addition to connecting to the internet (which is working fine currently) I need to share resources (printer, files, etc.) between both w/stations but because they’re using DHCP with varying IP schemes they are unable to see each other. The option of static IPs from my ISP is extremely expensive so I’m looking for alternative solutions if possible.
At minimum I’d like to share my printer. Any ideas?

PLEASE HELP!!
