I recently installed a video camera (USB) and a scanner (also USB) on a pentium 400 Mhz running windows 98 (not SE). Prior to the installation, when you started a web browser, either internet explorer or netscape, the dialup option would come up anddial automatically. After the installation of the camera and scanner the dailup option reset itself to NEVER DIAL A CONNECTION. I can set it back to ALWAYS DIAL A CONNECTION, and everything works fine until I reset the PC, then when it comes back up, the dial option is reset to NEVER DIAL A CONNECTION. I have reinstalled windows, Internet explorer, and netscape to no avail. I figure there is a corrupt file or something in the registry that is causing this problem. I know I could reinstall clean, but what a pain that is. Any idea’s?
