You will need to provide a little more information. this can be due to a number of issues.

What type of connection do you have (dial-up, dsl, network)?

You might have a virus or spyware on your system (clean with Spybot or AdAware and do a complete virus scan with all of the current updates)?

Did this just start happening or has it always been this way?

What are the specs on your system (cpu, hard drive free space, amount of ram)?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling ie6?

Post back with more info and we'll see if we can figure something out.

Cheers.

Be warned, no new IE updates will be available for versions of Windows other than the XP series. I think 2003 Server too. You will get no new updates for IE using 98.
However, to try fixing the current problem, if you got everything from Windows Update you can, you can reload IE 6 SP1 by downloading the installer at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1e1550cb-5e5d-48f5-b02b-20b602228de6&displaylang=en
This will reload IE for you. May fix the problem.

re-install ie6 make sure you have the java and flash add ons installed. Delete all rtemp internet files //cookies etc. Check for spyware and viruses.
Use ms config to reduce the tsr running and check to see if your anti virus is checking pages as you open them.

If you still are having problems try opera or netscape or even real player.See if the same pages that freeze in ie6 freeze in the other browsers.
