Internet security password changed by ex

    Locked

    by purelabor ·

I have a problem with Internet Explorer. An exemployee has changed the password on ie trusted site. She set the setting for no site. Is there anyway to bypass this. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling ie but this does not work. I can’t get this machine to update or ever get help files off internet. In many years of working on computers this person has done the most damage I have ever run across.

I’d advise logging in as an administrator on the local system and removing the Enchanced Security Module.

To add or remove the IE Enhanced Security Configuration feature from Windows 2003, perform the following steps:

Start the Control Panel Add/Remove Programs applet (go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, and click Add/Remove Programs).

Click Add/Remove Windows Components in the left pane of the dialog box.

Scroll down to Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration and select the check box to activate the locked-down configuration or clear the check box to deactivate the locked-down configuration.

If you’re enabling the locked-down configuration, click Details to select which users (e.g., administrator groups, all other user groups) you want the policy to apply to.

Click Next, then follow the onscreen instructions to finish configuring the settings.

If all else fails, get the critical data off that system. Format the disk and reinstall the OS and applications.

I assume you are referring to Content Advisor settings in IE. If so, instructions for resetting Content Advisor password can be found at link below:
