Interrogate user login name

By munrrob ·
This is probably bread and butter but I need to know how I can capture the log in name for a user on a Windows 2K domain using a VBScript asp page running on an IIS intranet server. There is more than one domain accessing the server but I do not need to know password or domain name, just login name (as these are unique across the domains).

Any help appreciated.

In IIS set the page properties to authenicate. (Remove Anonymous Flag)

Then in your ASP query your Server Variable
I.e.:
UserID = Request.ServerVariables("Auth_User)
"Auth_User" or "Remote_User"

That will return the User that is Logged onto the PC.
