Using Winxp Pro, SP2, Visual C++ 6.0, when I enter Invalidate(), screen flickers wildly, with Invalidate(false) screen flickers very mildly, Invalidate(true) screen flickers very wildly, any ideas, what are the ramivications of the use if this function? Sid Kraft

also invalidates any child controls, recursively I seem to think as well.
So the flicker depends on what you invalidate and how much it covers.

Invalidate is the most efficient way of getting something to repaint. In that it bands a request on the windows message queue and copes with 'extra' requests.
The flicker problem is usually down to redrawing too much.

Are these your own controls or standard ones?
