I have a PC on the network I can’t get IP to work properly on. The protocol installs correctly and I can assign the correct static IP address. I am using the Novell Netware Client 3.1 and have IPX also loaded. The notebook connects to the network properly with IPX and lets me sign-on to my Novell server. The problem is that it will not ping/connect to anything else on the network. When I go to the MS-DOS prompt and run the ipconfig command I receive “IP ConfigurationFatal Error” and “Cannot read IP Configuration” error. It has an IBM Auto Token-Ring Credit Card Adapter in the notebook. It’s running Windows 98 SE. I’ve also tried deleting eveything in the Network section of Control Panel and reinstalled. The PC worked at one time including IP. Help with any ideas as to why the system cannot read the IP configuration and how to fix it.
