IP Configuration Fatal Error - Cannot re

By JohnGreer ·
We had a virus on my kids computer that caused me to format and reload the OS. Since the reinstall, I cannot connect to our wireless network. If I say IPCONFIG, I get:

IP ConfigurationFatal Error
Cannot read IP configuration

What am I missing?

John,
I found an article on Microsoft's site. Here is the link. http://tinyurl.com/bynm
It looks like your problem is that TCP/IP is corrupt.
This article will help you step by step. Good luck. Jim

You probably need to reinstall the drivers for the wireless network device.

Provide your OS, and the wireless network device, linksys, dlink, ect, and we can get you going in the right direction.

I've reloaded the Wireless drivers, No Good.

Which virus did you have? An erase and reload will have no effect on a boot sector virus or memory resisdent virus without further steps being made before reinstalling.

The virus was never detected by Norton nor McAfee, but it was obviously there. You may have a point there, but I cannot test it since I no longer have that computer. Hmmmm.
