Ip to Name Resolution

by bconklin . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

I know this may sound like a newbie question, but I cannot remember if it is possible to use a command line utility to tell me the host name of a known IP address on my local subnet. We have a peice of gear that is using an IP address…but no one remembers what that gear is. Any ideas?
Thank you in advance…
System configuration
Windows NT 4.0 SP6a, along with Novell 5.1. Novell provides logon authentication and NT provides DHCP, DNS and WINS. Approx. 300 possible hosts on the network.
