IPSec on Windows 2000 server

by shanghai sam . Updated 25 years, 1 month ago

Is a framework of openstandards for ensuring private, secure communications over ip networks.

Microsoft has two implementations of IPSec:
(i) Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF)version or Pure IPSec Tunnel mode – puts an existing packet in a new packet that is sent to tunnel end point in the IPSec format.
(ii)L2TP/ IPSec mode or transport mode – An IPSec VPN configured to use transport mode secures an existing IP from source to destination using the encryptions and authentication methods.

I wish to know more about IP security.
