Irony comes in all flavors. Boss of German IT firm fires 3 for not smoking

BERLIN (Reuters) - The owner of a small German computer company has fired three non-smoking workers because they were threatening to disturb the peace after they requested a smoke-free environment.

The manager of the 10-person IT company in Buesum, named Thomas J., told the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper he had fired the trio because their non-smoking was causing disruptions.

Germany introduced non-smoking rules in pubs and restaurants on January 1, but Germans working in small offices are still allowed to smoke.

"I can't be bothered with trouble-makers," Thomas was quoted saying. "We're on the phone all the time and it's just easier to work while smoking. Everyone picks on smokers these days. It's time for revenge. I'm only going to hire smokers from now on."

It's a good thing NYC Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, isn't working for this guy :^0

Been to Europe?

The news here is that three dorks tried to pull anti-smoking totalitarianism in Europe. Just because it passes in the United States doesn't mean it will fly in the free world.

Europe? Yes.

Herat, too. What do you hear of Herat?

a shockingly specific question

by Absolutely In reply to Europe? Yes.

Of the country, I hear the United States was welcomed as liberators, became distracted, and has not provided better liberation services than the local market for freedom requires, or has surpassed the local market by only the slim margin necessary to corner that market.

Would you prefer that I show the courage to address what you won't clearly state, or ask? Who's more the "ingenue"?

Buisness agreement when hiring occurs.

Clause in the hiring contract:

This is not a smokless environment, by signing this agreement you agree to this stipulation and for go all rights for bringing suits or labor charges to either this buisness or the individuals that enjoy this paticular individual freedom.

You got a point. With employees being litigation happy, you may have to

Everyone is looking to sue this and that if they don't get their way, as if the world is supposed to cater to their needs and lifestyle. Either conform to the rules of the majority or shut up.
