Hi people
This is my problem. I have a Piii with the following hardware.
AGP display card. Sound card. Internal modem. A second PCI display card, with the usual connected ex printer, PS/2 mouse exct.
I now installed a network card in the PC that caused the following problems.
The card installed OK but I could not get it to work on the network. It pinged itself but did not ping any of the other computers on the network. In device manager it did not show any conflicts but it did share the IRQ (11) with the second display card that was not connected at that time. When I removed the second display card, the network card started working OK but windows started to freeze after a few minutes. I then saw that the network card shared the IRQ (5) with the modem, after removing the modem all went well. But now I need to put the internal modem and second display card back and every thing must work ok? How must I set up the IRQ?s I did try to use IRQ 3 of the com ports but it did not work. Windows just reinstalls it on reboot (the COM port) manual setting also did not work. Where can I find out about IRQ setups and sharing?
The computer runs Win 98se.
